Do you remember what things felt like when you were a child? The texture of your fathers skin? The way his hand was large and warm? The things he always had, ate and read? These were experiments trying to recreate those memories using salt dough.

This is a mash of different visual inspirations of mine. During one of my Gallery visits I was stunned by beauty of the V&A's replica of Michelangelo David. A beautiful piece of work. I brought him into a landscape familiar to me. It's a piece full of tension, it's for the viewers own interpretation.

Oil painting is a very particular skill. Unlike acrylic paint, the layers are much more important. A consistent ground creates an over all vibe in a painting. These are just studies of flowers, but they have taught me about creating a certain vibe in a painting and how to unify this feel. All of these paintings have green and natural tones for a ground; an 'avocrative-ground'.
